About aquil.one

We built the site we wished existed when we tried to grow herbs in a Milan apartment.

The idea

Most gardening advice assumes you have a garden. Rows of soil, a hose, space to spread out. But the majority of Europeans live in apartments — balconies, windowsills, and not much else.

aquil.one was built for that reality. A smarter, more personal way to grow plants indoors. One that knows where you live, what season it is, and what actually thrives in a north-facing Milan flat versus a sun-drenched Barcelona terrace.

What we do differently

We connect your location and season to real plant recommendations — not a generic list, but what actually makes sense to grow right now, where you are. The planting calendar tracks watering, feeding, and harvest windows for everything in your collection, and reminds you before you forget.

The shop is curated, not comprehensive. Every product is chosen because it works well in small indoor spaces. We link to the best available EU retailers and are transparent about our affiliate relationships.

The name

Aquilone is Italian for kite — something that needs a little wind, a little attention, and a good string to hold it. We liked the metaphor for indoor plants. Light touch, consistent care, and they'll surprise you.
